Once again, after yet another lengthy and inexcusable absence from the website-making world, I have returned to update the public's perception of my life (which I'm SO glad I did...I was looking insanely boring. I AM boring, but less boring than I looked like!).
I've uploaded some samples of video work I've done in the past, new photos, etc... but that's not actually the reason why I'm writing. I'm writing because of the Sci-Fi on the Rock International Film Festival, 2014. Amazing updates about this thing, need to be shared.
First off, this year was CRAZY popular for submissions--we received films from all over the world; once again, we received submissions from local filmmakers, Spain, the United Kingdom, New York, Ontario, Alberta and so on--and joining us for the first time were submissions from Winnepeg, France, Germany, Serbia and--get this--HOLLYWOOD! Typically, we've received less than 20 films each of the last three years, and almost all of them were screened... this year, we had FIFTY THREE submissions!! Due to time limitations, we can only screen 13 of the submissions, so it was a fierce competition to become Official Selections this year...and as the referee for this particular battle, I think I had the hardest time--choosing the official selections was no easy task because each year the films just get better and better and better!
Eventually, a final Official Selections list was forged. Here it is:
